SICKLE CELL SCREENING CAMPS
*Our Mission* VARAM is committed to ending the silent crisis of sickle cell disease in Teso and beyond. We achieve this by: 1. *Educating* men and youth that sickle cell is genetic, not witchcraft 2. *Mobilizing* communities for early screening and “test before you love” 3. *Supporting* warriors and caregivers with blood drives, care access, and stigma-free spaces 4. *Partnering* with health systems to ensure no child dies for lack of blood or awareness 5. *Advocating* for policies that make SCD screening mandatory for couples before marriage We believe men are not bystanders — they are the missing link in breaking the cycle.
- Diagnostic testing
Our Health Philosophy
Because Every
Cell Counts.
Our programs are designed around the biology of sickle cell disease. By understanding how the hemoglobin mutation affects oxygen transport, we can implement targeted medical interventions that reduce pain crises and improve life expectancy for patients in the Teso sub-region.

Save Lives.
